Success for Wroughton swimming club in the Wiltshire Winter Moonraker League 2008/ 09

Wroughton ASC swimming team enjoyed a success in Trowbridge at the Winter Moonraker Finals.

The team managed qualification for the division one finals in February promoting Wroughton to division one status.

The team finished fourth, picking up 124 points, placing the team 10th in Wiltshire with the crown of division 2 champions.
And the most notable performance of the day was from Jade Walters who put in a great performance in the frestyle relay team.

But there was more success in the other swims. Every competitor made a top effort.

These achievements helped contribute to Wroughton returning our status in the top division.

Wroughton ASC were one of twenty two teams in the Winter League league, and to be back in in the top division is great achievement.

Female team captain, Katie Luker said: “Qualifying for the division one finals in February confirms our position as one of the top twelve swimming clubs in the county.
“The team showed improvement from last year .
“I think this highlights the success of the performance from the whole team!.”

The swimming team’s success continues and we will be hoping build on this in 2009 in the Summer League, and County Championship Age Groups.
Sandra believes "The team will look to improve on their tenth place position, where next year aiming for the top six.”
