Wroughton ASC Swimming Club welcomes new members of all ages, abilities and backgrounds - from non-swimmers to competing athletes. It offers a comprehensive training programme which given personal commitment and effort, will enable each member to reach his or her own maximum potential in a fun and safe environment.
Whilst all of our training sessions are structured and disciplined, there is also an opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and get some really great low impact exercise.
DO I HAVE TO BE A GOOD SWIMMER?
The short answer to this question is NO. Ability, in general, does not matter because Wroughton ASC has such a wide range of programmes and facilities to accommodate any type of swimmer. In most cases we will have training to match your needs, from teaching a young child to learn to swim for the first time, right through to providing expert coaching to fully fledged swimmers of all abilities.
GETTING STARTED
Getting swimming with Wroughton ASC is simple, and we always welcome new members. We never think that questions are daft or silly, because we probably asked them ourselves when we joined... and we appreciate that you will have lots of questions too. We also know that you will probably want to come and have a look at what we do and how we do it, and so welcome people along to have a look (and try of course).
When you contact us, we'll invite you to come and have a look and try at one of our sessions. This will normally be Friday night session, held at The Ridgeway Leisure Centre, Wroughton. This is absolutely free, and there is no pressure to continue.
Step 3: Selecting the Correct time and Your Off
Once you have had a look at us and we have had a look at you, you will be placed in a group which matches your ability. All new members are accepted on a trial basis to begin with, and usually settle in really quickly.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We understand that you will want to come and have a look and try before working out if joining Wroughton ASC is for you so you do not have to pay during your trial period.
Once you've decided to join, there is just one fee of £200 for the year.
IS IT ALL SWIMMING?
In the main yes! - The core function of the club is to provide a wide range of swimming activities and facilities to develop all our young swimmers from “Tidlers” to “Teens”, and more recently even “Masters”. However, we do believe in developing fully all leisure aspects of club life and therefore have a very active and healthy social side to the club. Some are swim orientated like the House Gala and club Championships. Other Activities have included family discos, presentation evenings, festive functions, camping and rambling weekends and family trips to name just a few of our social activities. Fresh ideas are always welcomed.
