The Wroughton Youth swimmers finished the annual Wiltshire County Championships after top performances from all swimmers who qualified.
Daisy Smale managed a district qualifying time in the women’s 200m backstroke with a time of 2.42.88. Georgina Mason managed 2nd in the 16 years 100m Butterfly, and 3rd in the 16 years 200m freestyle. Sally Watts in the 17/18 age group came 3rd in the 100m backstroke, Jo Ovens finished 2nd in the 50m 19+ years breastroke, and Jake Bagwell came 3rd in the 16 years 200m butterfly.
The nine to 14-year-old boys and nine to 13-year-old girls (BAGCATS) have now started with Wroughton expecting to do well again. Tom Codling in the 11 years age group screeched to a fabulous Gold in the 50m backstroke, Bronze in the 200m butterfly, and Bronze again in the 200m. Jack Spooner also managed a 2nd in the 11 years 50m backstroke. Lauren Elias came second in the 12 years 100m breastroke, and Matthew Croston came 2nd in the 14 years 50m backstroke.
