Wroughton ASC round off a great Sprint Championships!

Wroughton ASC swimmers finished the 2010 Wiltshire Sprint Championships on a high this weekend with startling performances.

The Wroughton boys were on form as Matthew Croston came first in the Junior Championship and fifth in the Senior Championship for the 37 Yard Backstroke with a time of 20.27. He then came fifth in the 37 Yard Butterfly Junior Championship, and also went on to come fourth in the Junior Championship for the 37 Yard Freestyle Championship. Joe Taylor was also a Championship swimmer coming 4^th place in the Junior Championship. Jack Spooner finished in first place for the 12 years age group in the 37 Yard Backstroke with a time of 22.71, with Tom Codling also from Wroughton close behind in second place. Jack and Tom then went on to come first and second again in the 37 Yard Butterfly respectively. In the 37 Yard Freestyle Tom Codling came first with a time of 19.71, and Jack Spooner in third place with a time of 20.12. In total all the Wroughton ASC boys won 15 medals.

Jack Spooner 12 Years - Gold in 37 Yards Butterfly, Bronze in 37 Yards Freestyle

Tom Codling 12 Years - Silver in 37 Yards Butterfly, Gold in 37 Yards Freestyle

Joe Taylor 15 Years – Bronze in 37 Yards Breastroke, 4^th in the 37 Yards Junior Championship Breastroke

Matthew Croston 15 Years – Gold in 37 Yards Backstoke, Gold in Junior Championship 37 Yards Backstroke, 5^th in Senior 37 Yards Backstroke, 4^th in Junior Championship 37 Yards Freestyle,

Dan Crowley 19+ Years - Silver in 37 Yards Butterfly, Bronze in 37 Yards Breastroke

Carl Durrant 19+ Years – Bronze in 37 Yards Butterfly, Bronze in 37 Yards Freestyle

The Wroughton girls also had good swims with butterfly their main event. Daisy Smale coming third in the 15 years 37 Yard Backstroke with a time of 23.85. Jade Walters finishing in third place in the 11 years 37 Yard Butterfly, and big sister Scarlett coming second in the 13 years 37 Yard Butterfly with a time of 23.44. Georgina Mason also came third in the 17-18 years Butterfly with a time of 22.83.In total the Wroughton ASC girls won 5 medals.
